Xinyan vs. Noelle: Who Is Better?

Xinyan vs noelle

Pyro Xinyan versus Geo Noelle is a matchup that many have strong opinions on, but who is better out of Xinyan versus Noelle?

Noelle’s shielding and healing abilities make her a good addition to some teams, but Xinyan’s powerful Pyro abilities are hard to go past, especially once you get her to Constellation 6.

Join me as we explore both of these characters’ abilities, playstyles and possibilities as well as their weaknesses in Genshin Impact.

Xinyan’s Strengths and Abilities

An adept user of Pyro damage, Xinyan will also bust out her musical skills to style on opponents.

The usual three attack fare starts off with Dance on Fire, with the normal attack version dealing up to four consecutive strikes.

The charged attack version uses stamina to launch a spinning attack finished with a powerful swing at the end.

She also has an Area of Effect (AoE) plunging attack that will deal large damage upon impact.

Sweeping Fervor deals Pyro damage as well as triggering a defensive shield. The shield will give 250% damage absorption effectiveness limited to Pyro damage.

Riff Revolution uses an elemental burst attack to quickly take opponents into the air and then deal a heavy physical blow, followed up with explosions that will inflict Pyro damage.

Moving on to Ascension Passives, Xinyan’s first is “The Show Goes On, Even Without An Audience…”, buffing Sweeping Fervor. Her other passive “…Now That’s Rock ‘N’ Roll!” adds a physical damage buff of 15% to any character covered by the Sweeping Fervor shield.

Finally, the Utility Passive is A Rad Recipe, which will reward a Perfect Cooking craft on a defense-boosting dish to give a 12% chance to obtain double the product.

For Constellations, Xinyan has Fatal Acceleration which ups her attack speed for all normal and charged attacks by 12% after a critical hit for a maximum of five seconds.

Impromptu Opening is a big compliment to Riff Revolution as it will increase the physical damage by significantly upping its critical hit rate by 100%, as well as boosting the shield to its maximum level.

Double-Stop is another damage booster to Sweeping Fervor as it increases its level by three to a maximum level of 15.

Wildfire Rhythm is another Sweeping Fervor damage multiplier by decreasing the opponent’s Physical resistance by 15% for a duration of 12 seconds.

Her second last Constellation is Screamin’ for an Encore which will put Riff Revolution up by three levels, scaling to a maximum of 15.

The last Constellation is named Rockin’ in a Flaming World and it will lower stamina drain by 30% and also give an attack bonus equal to 50% of defense.

Noelle’s Strengths and Abilities

Specializing in Geo abilities, she is loyal and performs her duties as a maid when not fighting pitched battles.

Starting off with Favonius Bladework – Maid, this follows the normal pattern with a normal, charged and plunging attack.

Her elemental skills summon protective stone armor which will also deal Geo damage to surrounding opponents and will also create a shield.

The shield’s absorption of damage scales based on Noelle’s defense. The shield will regenerate HP for all characters on hit as well as granting 150% damage absorption efficiency versus both elemental and physical damage, scaling with Noelle’s defense.

Her elemental burst attack is Sweeping Time and will use stone to boost her weapon’s damage and grant an AoE attack dealing Geo damage. She’ll also gain a larger attack AoE and will convert attack damage to Geo damage, ignoring elemental infusion.

Devotion is her 1st Ascension Passive that means when Noelle is in the party but not on the field, it will trigger automatically to create a shield for your active character for 20 seconds when your active character’s HP falls below 30%.

The shield will absorb damage equal to 400% of Noelle’s defense as well as a 150% damage absorption effectiveness against all elemental and physical damage, with a cooldown of 60 seconds.

Her 4th Ascension Passive is Nice and Clean which means every four normal or charged attacks will decrease the cooldown of Breastplate by 1 second.

Maid’s Knighthood is her Utility Passive that is triggered on successful attainment of Perfect Cooking for a defense-boosting dish, giving Noelle a 12% chance to obtain double the product.

Moving onto Constellations, I Got Your Back will raise Breastplate’s healing effects to 100%.

Combat Maid will decrease the stamina consumption of her charged attacks by 20% and also increases her charged attack damage by 15%.

Invulnerable Maid will increase the Level of Breastplate by three up to 15, whereas To Be Cleaned will trigger on Breastplate’s duration expiring, or when destroyed by damage, so that it deals 400% attack of Geo damage to surrounding opponents.

Favonius Sweeper Master will increase the level of Sweeping Time by three up to 15, and Must Be Spotless further raises Noelle’s attack by an additional 50% of her defense when Sweeping Time is active.

Xinyan vs. Noelle: Who Is Better?

Noelle is widely rated as having one of the best burst DPS abilities in the game, but her reliance on Geo attacks is often a negative mark against her. However, at Constellation 6 her shield is very strong and she can be a healer.

Xinyan’s elemental damage is Pyro, which is going to get you through a lot of tricky spots in the game as opposed to Geo.
